AGS in top 6!
AGS has again received recognition from the Government. This time, the school has been credited with being the 6th most improved school in England at KS3. This based on a 3 year trend and places AGS as the number 1 most improved school in the West Midlands.
We would like to thank the whole school community for being part of this incredible journey. It is a remarkable achievement.
AGS in Top 100!
The Guardian newspaper has published a list of the 100 most improved schools in England. The data is based on GCSE exam performance improvements between 2004-2007. This is the percentage improvement in the number of students achieving 5 A*-C grades including English and Maths, the gold standard for schools.

Exam results: The Upward Trend
Level 2 qualifications are 5 A*-C grades at GCSE including English and Maths and are described as as 'the gold standard'.
At Ash Green School and Arts College, we have increased this standard over the past 4 years and have now reached the point where we have matched the school target:
2005: 22%
2006: 23% (school record)
2007: 29% (school record), Target 29%
2008: Target 36%
In terms of SATS scores, the 2007 results smashed school records. These are the results for Level 5 or better.
English: 78% (school record), Target 65%
Maths: 72% (school record), Target 69%
Science: 65% (school record), Target 65%
More success for Ash Green School
On July 3rd, 2007, the Secretary of State for Education awarded Ash Green School the status of Specialist School for the Arts.

Increased Intake
In September 2007, the school will have an increased intake of 34% on 2006, despite a regional and national trend of declining numbers. As a result, Ash Green School has the highest increase in popularity amongst parents/carers in Warwickshire, representing a renewed belief in the school.
Fastest Improving School
Ash Green School is currently recognised by Warwickshire LA as the fastest improving school in Warwickshire.
Year on year comparisons of raw L5+ SATS data shows that Ash Green School has improved by 30% between 2004 and 2006, as a proportion of the 2004 score. By comparison, Warwickshire LA has improved by 5% and schools in the whole of England by 6%. (Source:dfes).
