Welcome to Music

Music lessons at Ash Green School should provide every child with a creative experience, providing students with a variety of composition with which to experiment and express themselves.

The balanced programme in music that they follow should help students to make sense of the music they hear and the world that they live in and make them aware of the richness and diversity of society, both today and in other times and cultures.

Every student should achieve their potential through understanding and enjoyment of their work. We aim to stretch students of all abilities.

Our aim is to spark an interest in and enjoyment of music, and then to nurture and develop it through the time students spend with us. We aim to build on the skills they already have, providing them with structured activities to stimulate new ideas and techniques. They will be given the opportunity for increasing independence.

Each child will be provided with a caring, supportive environment where they can consider, think and create their musical talents, achieving their own personal best work whatever their ability, and to celebrate what they have achieved.

While we are developing their individual skills, each student will also be growing in their spiritual, moral and cultural development. Each will be improving their perception of the world. The arts enrich the quality of our lives, providing us with rewarding activities for life beyond school.
