Help For Heroes event...
December 20, 2009
AGS raised £777.62 on a single morning to support this wonderful charity. Brad Everitt, Army, and Tom Dally, RAF and a former AGS pupil, were on hand to distribute awards for the Autumn term. Students and staff came together and went for a non-uniform day to raise money. Staff raised money by donating cash rather than sending Christmas cards to each other and some hard working KS3 students had a very successful cake sale.
We wish Brad and Tom every success as they run 100 miles between Ewood park and Villa Park.

Rewards Scheme
August 18, 2009
We have introduced a new rewards scheme for 2009-2010. There are different schemes for Key Stages 3 and 4.
KS3
Students will be given credits for work that goes above and beyond the norm. Teachers and other staff may award up to 3 credits per lesson or activity. The credits themselves are plastic discs, pictured here. Students then pass these credits to their Form Tutors and a score will be kept. The Form Tutor returns the credits to the central store for re-cycling. We have 6,000 crdits in stock. When a student reaches a certain points total, they receive specially made badges, awarded during formal school assemblies.
Bronze = 100 points
Silver = 200 points
Gold = 300 points
Bronze + Gold or 2 x Silver = 400 points, and so on.
KS4
Students will receive Attitudes to Learning scores based upon a 9 point scale. 9 is the highest. Scores of 7 to 9 will count towards the prize draw. Here’s how it wor… [read more]
