2010 GCSE results deliver a double century - our best ever results give every student five C grades and above!

2010 results for 5 A* – C including English and Maths increased by 100% on 2008 to a school record of 67%, 17% above the government target.
2010 results see all Y11 students leave with at least 5 A* – C grades in any subject – life changing grades for 100% of year 11, 32% above the government target.

5 plus GCSE A* – C including English and Maths results increased by 100% on 2008. The story of dramatic improvement continues at AGS. The 14% increase from 2008 to 2009 was a huge breakthrough for the school but this has been smashed by a further 20% increase this year.

£100 first prize to support mistreated animals - prize draw completed

Update: The prizes were drawn by Mr Clay, Headteacher, on Monday 10th May. The 1st prize of £100 went to a girl in Year 7! All prize winners were notified on Monday.
In total, the school raised £874. Together with additional private donations, £1,000 was given to Jane Dexter, Rescue Manager on Wednesday 12th May. Jordan Wright (new Head Boy) and Mabel Makombore (new Deputy Head Girl) took time out of their work experience placements to travel to the rescue centre to present Jane with a cheque.
Rabbits are the most mistreated pet in the UK. We are raising funds for a Warwickshire care centre based in Budbrooke, near Warwick, which has over 100 rabbits in rescue. They are cared for by a dedicated team of people, all on a completely voluntary basis. Haiti fundraiser

AGS raised £292.12 for the Haiti disaster relief fund. We did this through a cake sale and a cash donation option through the ‘H’ for Haiti in The Community Theatre.

The data for most improved school, nationally, has placed AGS as the 4th most improved. This is based on our fantastic achievement in the 2009 exams against what we achieved in 2008. If we go over a 3 year spread, we are 33rd most improved, placing 55th most improved for a 4 year spread. Fantastic stuff!
We also received a congratulatroy letter from the Right Honourable Ed Balls, Secretary of State from Children, Younf People and Families.
