The Business department delivers a popular and successful Applied GCSE Business course at Key Stage 4. Students study this for 3 periods (each of 60 minutes) per week. The course itself requires students to engage in a variety of learning activities through which they acquire a range of skills. One of the key objectives has been to help students develop a more flexible and confident approach to learning.

ICT has played a key role in the delivery of the business course, with students having access to excellent ICT facilities. All staff within the Faculty are issued with a tablet PCs and always have access to a data projector.

The department has developed strong links with both local and national businesses. Such links have helped to bring the course alive – providing exciting and stimulating experiences for the students.

In the majority of Business lessons, students have access to computers and there has been a greater emphasis on the use of E-learning materials.
