Objectives

Students will be taught the skills and concepts necessary to the understanding and enjoyment of history, the fulfilment of whole school policies and the fulfilment of statutory requirements lay down by the National Curriculum. This will be achieved through:

• The study and analysis of historical evidence
• The consideration of views and opinions, both past and present
• The development of a chronological framework
• The development of students ability to question why things happen and the possible results of these changes.
• Guiding students in their acquisition of historical knowledge and the possible interpretations that can emerge from historical events.
• Studying both European and non-European cultures
